I just wanted to say, I love fan art. You might have seen that I made a folder for it in my Faves. I have to thank !
hanzoushinrei, ~
parangsakti, ~
sicherheitpolizei, !
HisaKadmas, and ~
Crocface for their contributions. And if I've missed anything, please let me know.
I'm slowly collecting reference pictures for people who want them, but even without that there's the
[link] and setting guide) which I hope gives enough visual clues for anyone who wants to take a stab at it.
Don't worry about canon. That's my job. Have fun.
I'll confess though, I also really love the Fav-alanche ~
parangsakti's series of pics based on
[link] has generated. And that's not even in the Dr. Mauser continuity.... Actually, anything I've written is fair game, just link back and let me know.
That's a cop out I know, but it's true.
Still...wouldn't hurt to try would it?
As for canon...I would strict to the images that appear to me in my head while I'm reading and so would be lockstep with the cannon. I'd also have to spend a few weeks doing character D s of some of my faves just to get them "worked out" from my head to the page.
Yadda yadda..sorry I am going on and on.
I can't picture someone like Warren giving my work any respect at all. (Although in part it has something to do with my image of Warren.)
As for Warren..hey..I commented on his DA page and he fucking replied!!!..but in a nasty kinda way and then when I replied to his reply he just left it.
He comes across as so approachable in his bios and such but you gotta imagine that inside there is some really hardcore arrogance.
Anyway, don't be paralyzed, (puts on greedy hat) if you don't like one, you can always do another. *grin*
Maybe I flatter myself but I have to wonder if he just clicked on my profile when he answered my comment and saw The Van there in my featured..and kinda ran off going.."fuck...this guy is into it"...oh...and taking to consideration I'd kinda taken him to task on what he claimed he was watching..Deadliest Catch on DVD...so I asked him if he'd tried Sig's Northwestern Ale...
A real beer lover would have answered that.

Every time I come down there to visit my sis or Peter I have a bottle or two.
I thought you'd know of it because of the references to micro brews in your stories..."Fat Tire" comes to mind.
Rogue brewing make a few of my fave American beers...Arrogant Bastard being another.
When I visit Peter I get them from the Top's across from the Everete mall.
Every time I go down there I fall off the wagon *hard*. Beer down there is so good and so cheap compared to here. If I lived there I`d be a worse alcaholic that I already am.
As for the show..I am/not a fan of any particular character, though I do respect them for being the first (and most natural) of the shows that spawned such obviously artificial contructs as Ice Pilots, Ice road Truckers...etc. (and I can easily recognize the attraction of Sig to the ladies...that firm jaw..slightly asshole attitude and all around rugged good looks).
My fave part of the show was the was always the sea itself. Those amazing shots of the boats smashing through the waves..and each time thinking....that for hundreds of years the best of fishing and exploration maritime tech has had to deal with those seas. Without the backup of thousand dollar an hour coastguard choppers.
Deadliest Catch always made me think like an engineer. There HAS to be a better way to handle the traps to people don't get crushed. I thought of guide rails that hung over the side so that the trap was solidly under control as it came over the rail. And why not a drag-behind submersible with a video link so they can actually SEE where the crab are?
And they have those water-activated hand-warmers. Why can't something similar be built into the survival suits?
(Man, Everett Mall, you really ARE in my territory.)
