.. before I stop believing it myself?

I HAVE been writing, just very, very slowly. The next short for Kindle "Pretty Hate Machines" has really been stalled out. I know where I want it to go, I have the finale planned, but getting from Point A to Point B just isn't happening for me. On the other hand, I finally broke the logjam on Chapter 4 of Dr. Mauser: Red on Red. It's not close to ready, but I've managed to get past that first sentence that mocked me endlessly saying "I bet you can't come up with something to go after me!"

Kiwi sales have been worse than February, which I didn't think was possible.  I sold one UK copy this month, which doesn't affect Amazon rankings, which are now down in the 3/4 million range. I have yet to crack the Canadian or Australian markets. On the plus side, I am about to get paid for January's sales. Yeah, a total of about $6. I'm learning that shorts just don't really sell on Amazon unless they're porn. Shameless plug time, Kiwi can be found at www.amazon.com/dp/B00HP9Y712 and you don't need a Kindle to read it, Amazon has free reader programs for most operating systems, and there's a heck of a lot of free content out there.

I've been nagged at a little to pick up the Mesa Warming storyline. "Whatever Happened to Minnie Gunn?" was actually about half written. Although that will just slow me down more. Although the idea of Minnie and Mimi Woo falling into traps in the catacombs of the Mesa has a certain appeal, I'm sure. Well, at least to Mimi.

If you've ever wondered where the image I use as my icon on other systems comes from, here it is. My Official Team Photo from BattleBots Season 5.0 in 2002. This is "Team Mauser" and version 2 of the Superheavyweight "Strike Terror". My foot is right there on the weak spot that cost me the first fight against Pro-Am. Other than another 10 lbs and more gray in the beard, I still look pretty much the same.
