I have a very clear image in mind of what I want, something that does a much better job of showing something of what the story's about than what I've got.

And frankly, sales have totally died off for the last couple of months, so a change would maybe do some good.

As I described it to an artist whose style would be perfect for it, but who, alas, declined:

"It would be a very simple graphic. The main female character is from a very tall, extremely slender species with fine, short brown fur. I'm imagining a shot from behind, from below the shoulderblades to mid thigh. Her hands are in handcuffs behind her back, but her forearms are horizontal because the chain on the handcuffs is captured under a metal belt that is snug around her waist. She has only a stub of a tail, just enough to protect her modesty from this shot. (It had been cut off in her past.) It wouldn't need any background, just very simple solid colors."

Heck, it could be bold line art and I could color it.

The only thing is, I can't really justify spending money on a cover for a novelette that has generated a whopping $13 for me so far this year.

Any ideas?

Update: I have art for a new cover, and I'll make a big announcement about it when the new edition is ready.

If you've ever wondered where the image I use as my icon on other systems comes from, here it is. My Official Team Photo from BattleBots Season 5.0 in 2002. This is "Team Mauser" and version 2 of the Superheavyweight "Strike Terror". My foot is right there on the weak spot that cost me the first fight against Pro-Am. Other than another 10 lbs and more gray in the beard, I still look pretty much the same.

He's been harassing and pestering artists and my FRIENDS for years, and I finally had enough.  I tried being polite with him a long time ago, and that didn't work.  I tried ignoring him, in hopes that everyone else who ripped him a new one would get through to him, but that too didn't work.

The guy has a history of trying to push himself into everyone else's creative worlds, and then dictate to them from on high, and I just couldn't stand it any more.  So you bet I was being a complete jackass to him. He deserves it.  And frankly, it was very therapeutic.

He's a parasite, the kind of guy who sees other people's greatness and artistic achievement, and tries to barge in on it and attach himself to make himself seem somehow equally valuable.  If you had seen him in action for as long as I have, and seen the pattern to his actions, and his particularly irritating tendency to answer any serious engagement with his "Contributions" with a "Nuh-uh!" maybe you wouldn't be defending him either.

Maybe you don't quite get how irritating it is to an artist to have some internet troll try to superimpose his will on a world you've invested years of work developing, but perhaps the fact that Nomad had to go in and delete so many comments and ban him might indicate to you that his brand of "contribution" isn't exactly welcome.

saw that myself......... though from waht i saw you should have been banned too for starting an argument in his comment forum.

i can't say for sure myself, cause i can't look at all the comments ever made, but i am sure of one thing. he was a pest at best if that is true. you, however, are nothing but a bullying jackass from waht i saw. you acted less like someone protecting and more like a fucking troll from youtube.

Yeah, and you have worn out your welcome here.  I was defending a friend, and he thanked me.  But you, with your blank account that has been inactive since 2008, suddenly pop up with full knowledge of the thread, and definitely on his side....  It's pretty clear you're just his alternate account.  Same typos, same lack of capitalization.  You can't hide yourself, so, goodbye, troll.
